We are over half way through our home & away season and it seem like it just started yesterday. I trust everyone enjoyed their break from football or got along to Bulleen Park to support our players selected to represent the YJFL in interleague games. From all accounts all of our representatives did our club and our league proud – congratulations.
This weekend we are all about the ladies !!
LADIES NIGHT is next weekend Saturday 20th June – we have had reports that lots of ladies are intending to attend however haven’t booked tickets yet. Can I please encourage you to book your tickets this weekend – either via our trybooking linkhttp://www.trybooking.com/HVAR or over the bar on Sunday night or at the canteen all day on Sunday. Your assistance in booking your tickets greatly helps in organising catering and will save Karen & Ray some sleepless nights leading up to the event. We would also hate to be in the position where we had to consider cancelling early next week through lack of bookings.
This weekend is our GIRLS DAY OUT, where for the first time we have 4 games of female football back to back at Whatmough Park to celebrate the growth of female footy at St Marys. We will also be unfurling our inaugural girls Premiership Flag from last year before the 15 (2) game at approximately 12:30. If you have any daughters, sisters, nieces, girlfriends etc who are thinking about playing footy next year please bring them down to see our fantastic girls in action.
This Sunday night is appropriately is all about the girls. (though we might let the boys in too!)
Speeches – 6PM sharp – we have some special guest speakers lined up – come down to see who they are .
Kids Pizza – served free of charge for all players & siblings, after the speeches approx 6:30
Adult Meals –served after the kids for the budget price of $10
Raffles – Drawn 7 PM: a magnificent seafood platter donated by Fishi Business at Greensborough Plaza and the opportunity to win $250 cash in our joker jackpot.
Lucky balls – a number will be drawn out of the box and one player in attendance who wears that guernsey number this year will walk away with a $25 Rebel Sport voucher.
Giveaways – we have some footyes to give away donated by AFL Victoria Womans Department to some lucky girls in attendance.
Footy Tickets – we have 4 x tickets to Richmond v West Coast to auction off. Bidding will start at $40 for the lot so if you are a tigers fan come along and you might pick yourself up a bargain.
Next Sunday Night 21st June is an open night for the whole club
A special mention this week for our boys in Under 12 Black, who recorded their first win of the year last round, a fantastic fighting 2 point victory over Camberwell. These boys have had a tough start to the season and all credit goes to them for not dropping their heads and persevering to get a result. Quite often our greatest successes come through adversity and you should all be very proud. Best of luck this week.
