Dear Members,
As we pass the half way mark of the season, the weather has got colder & we all reminder that football is a winter sport. At this time of the year I am always most appreciative of our fantastic coaches and assistant coaches who give up their weeknights to take training in the rain and the mud whilst the rest of us hide in our cars or do the pick up & drop off. Whilst they get the glory on game days, it is the hard yards at training and in preparation that largely go unnoticed and on behalf of the club I would like to thank them all for their efforts.
This Sunday Night: Under 15 Boys Night.
Special Guest – “Unleash the Giesch” Former Richmond Coach, Jeff Gieschen will be our guest speaker who will present to our boys & girls on how to build great teams & achieve success. With many of our older age groups looking forward to finals this a not to be missed opportunity. With no school the next day I encourage everyone to get down to hear the thoughts of someone who has achieved great success in many leagues across the country as well as being one of very few people to have coached at the highest level.
Age Group: Under 15’s though all welcome on this special night.
Food: Free pizza for the kids from 6:30 strictly on a first come, first served basis. Adult meals available as usual.

Raffles: The Joker Jackpot went off last week – congratulation Steve Gleeson from under 14 Brown, so resets to $250 this week. Congrats also to Bernie Girolami who after many, many years of service and countless raffle tickets purchased finally took home his first ever prize and enjoyed the fantastic Seafood Tray from Fishi Business Greensborough Plaza.
Next week – Club closed – School Holidays. The Week After – with school going back the next day there is no age group, instead it is Die Hards Night for all those who just love getting back to the club to reflect on the events of the day.
GALA BALL, GALA BALL, GALA BALL
We are now taking bookings for the highlight of our social calendar, the annual Gala Ball on Friday August 5th. Once again being held at Emerald Receptions in Thomastown this promises to be great night of food, drinks & dancing.
This is also the night where we farewell in an official sense our Top Age Youth Girls & Colts with a special presentation and the awarding of the highest honours at our club, the Bernie Girolami& Gerry O’Hara medals. We have reformatted the night to allow for a more convenient start time of 7 PM and promise less talking & more dancing.
Tickets are just $95 a head and include beer, wine & soft drinks, a 3 course meal and entertainment from “St Marys own” Track 7 featuring life members Sam & Danni Gioffre as well as a special DJ set. Please see your team manager to book a seat on your teams table.

Our long promised and much worked on Greensborough Park redevelopment steps up a gear this weekend – thanks to everyone who has volunteered their time to make this project a reality and we look forward to much better facilities at Greensborough Park in the near future.
