Dear St Marys GJFC Members,

Preliminary Finals Week

After a hard fought first round of semi finals the club is still well placed with all 6 teams still in the race for the Premiership Flag. A huge congratulations must go to all involved in our Colts 1 team who had a stirring win against Ashburton and have gone straight into next week’s Grand Final.  The guts and determination shown by the boys to get over the line was truly inspiring… considering we had virtually no bench for rotations in the last quarter.   That’s now eleven wins on the trot!!

Let’s make it twelve and bring the prize home in two weeks.

Congratulations to both our Under 11 sides which had strong wins on the weekend in their knockout finals.  With their season on the line it was a great effort by both teams.  The dream is still alive boys. To our other 3 sides who suffered losses…all is not lost.  Your strong home and away season ensured you had the double chance.  This week is the time to make the most of your opportunities.  We all know you can come away with a win this week.  Be confident and do the Burra proud.

• Under 12 Girls v Bulleen Templestowe – Citizens Park Reserve @ 2.45pm

I urge all members to try to get to get to a game on the weekend and support your fellow St Marys players.

This Sunday Night

This Sunday night the rooms are still open.  We invite every player and their family and friends to come along and celebrate what has been a great year.  We will acknowledge any teams who unfortunately bow out in the Preliminary finals on Sunday and wish the teams continuing in the Grand Final all the best of luck.

Pizzas will still be served free for the kids and there will be wedges served for the adults for a nominal charge .  You will still have the chance to win a Seafood Tray valued at over $100 for only $2.00 in the raffle. Why not come down and have a pleasant Sunday evening at the club….it’s our 2^nd last Sunday!!!

Presentation Nights

Don’t forget your age groups up-coming presentation night.  It’s a chance to congratulate the players on the year past, present the Best and Fairest awards and say thank you to all those involved in getting the teams on the park each week.

I hope to see as many of you as possible either at the games or on Sunday Night at the rooms.
