Backline Notes
• MAN ON MAN
• PUNCH DEFENSIVELY FROM BEHIND
• Under pressure clear the ball long and defensively
• Have touch on your opponent take him to the ball
• NO U TURNS-Don’t bring the ball back into the corridor go down the lines
• Always push your opponent out to boundary line you take guard of the corridor
• No ball watching – CONCENTRATE
Midfield
• Lead your opponent to the ball
• Once you have dispose of the ball push back hard onto your opponent
• Man your opponent up in their forward line
• Build the wall in forward line
• Don’t go kick chasing be accountable
• Man up in centre bounces if opposition are winning the clearances
• Fill the defensive corridor in back line
Forwards
• PLAY IN FRONT ITS IMPERATIVE!
• LEAD YOUR OPPONENT TO THE BALL
• When kicking for goal, be balance don’t try and kick too hard just kick through the ball
• If cant mark bring the ball to ground for rovers – who will be front and centre
• FORWARD LINE PRESSURE run, chase, harass and lock the ball in
• MAN UP when they have the ball be prepared to run
• No ball watching – CONCENTRATE
• Keep the forward line OPEN
