After another week of great footy we are now 4 rounds into the season and all grading games have been completed.
The league is now in a position to produce the fixtures for the remainder of the year.
These can be found on the league website   www.yarrajfl.org.au or if you have downloaded the St Marys App, this is now updated.

A big congratulations this week to our Under 13 Green and Black sides coached by Stephen Philp and  Greg Griffiths.
Both teams notched up their first wins for the season with strong performances.  Great job boys, keep up the good work.

Mothers  Day Friday Night at the Club – 10th May
This year as a Special thanks to our Mum’s and the great support they give us all, we have organised a Special Friday Night at the club to help celebrate Mothers Day.
Why not bring the whole family to the club tonight  from 6.00pm.  There will be meals served at very reasonable prices and every Mum gets a free glass of Champagne and a flower.
Let’s make sure every mum feels appreciated this Mothers Day. I look forward to seeing as many people there tonight as possible.

This Sunday Night at the Club – We are closed due to Mothers Day!!

St Marys GJFC policy on Bullying.
Bullying is the deliberate action by one person to intimidate another with words, actions or behaviour.
Unfortunately, bullying is commonly found wherever children come together in groups – and as a result, the St Marys Junior Football Club can be one hot-spot for bullying.

The main ways bullying occurs are:

  • Teasing
  • Exclusion
  • Physcial
  • Harrassment
  • Cyber Bullying

Bullying is a highly emotive subject for children and parents.  If you think your child may be being bullied, the next step is encouraging them to open up to you about it.  Many children will need some help from their parents to open up and talk about any bullying or issues.  Many kids who are being bullied will not voluntarily talk about what’s happening.  They will need some coaxing and to feel they are safe to reveal what they’re going through.

As a parent we ask you to resist the temptation to rush out in anger to immediately try to solve the problem.  This can sometimes create a larger problem.  Rather report the incident to your one of the following, Your Coach, Team Manager, Age Group Manager or feel free to contact any of the committee members.

At St Marys we do not condone and will not tolerate any form of Bullying and will act swiftly to prevent any such incidents.

St Marys Senior Football Club.
A mixed week for the Senior Club with the U19’a and Seniors having strong wins with the Reserves suffering another loss.
The U19’s had a convincing  6 goal win against Lalor and after 4 rounds sit in a comfortable 3rd on the ladder. The Seniors had their first win for the season  against a determined Parkside by 14 points.  Let’s hope this is the first of many more to come.
This week all 3 sides have a bye.
