Round 1 - 29/4/2007 St Mary's 4.7.31 - v - Fitzroy 2.6.18
A wet day! We came from behind to clinch victory! We came out after half time and dominated the third quarter. We held on in the last quarter to win. The boys put their bodies on the line for St. Marys.

Round 2 - 6/5/2007 St Mary's 4.4.28 - v - Banyule 7.3.45
We came out to play and, unfortunately, after an even battle all day, we lost by a couple of goals. Our endeavour, commitment, attitude, team work and willingness to push the ball forward through the corridor, was just fantastic. The boys show great heart and if they continue to do so, they will have an enjoyable season. Let's turn this loss into a positive and learn from our weaknesses on the day, and turn it around for next week's game. Go the Mighty Burra!

Round 3 - 13/5/2007 St Mary's 1.3.9 - v - Ivanhoe 5.9.39
We played a very good footy side; they made hard work for St Marys. However, I was proud of our endeavours - our willingness to work hard and our 'never say die' attitude. We held on in the second half - it could've been a lot worse if we had given in. The boys will take a lot away from this game. It proves to the boys that if we work hard for each other, we will succeed! Go The Burras!

Round 4 - 20/5/2007 St Mary's 3.3.21 - v - St Damians 8.10.58
We played a very good football side in St Damians. They moved the ball down the ground very well. They showed us why they are a top 4 side. I felt we teamed up very well. In wet weather football, I asked the boys to go hard at the ball. Fear no-one! I also said to them, "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog!" If we want to be a good football team, we must take this attitude out onto the ground. Guess what? We did! I'd like to thank 'Diamond' Desmond, 'Dominoes' Page, and 'Scud' Missailidis for helping us tonight. I'd like to thank my fellow coaches for their support tonight. The unbelievable thing was that most boys played school footy today, and then followed up again - twice in one day! I have the utmost respect for you boys! Go Burra!

Round 5 - 27/5/2007 St Mary's 7.12.46 - v - Camberwell 12.10.82
We introduced 6 new boys to the Blue Team with great success. We challenged Camberwell all day. At three quarter time, we were 1 point down. Unfortunately, Camberwell kicked with the wind, and ran over the top of us. We introduced a new move today - "spring board football". This is when we repel the ball back into the forward line, starting from the centre half-back. This resulted in three goals for our team. Also, we were hard and tough around the packs today, which enabled us to score our other four goals. I asked the boys "To Taste the Honey!" today, but Camberwell were too good! However, there are more opportunities down the track and we will "Taste the Honey" soon. Well Done! Go Burra!

Round 7 - 17/6/2007 St Mary's 7.8.50 - v - Macleod 4.3.27
Play smart, play tuff! We entered the jungle of uncertainty! I asked the boys, they must be hunters today. We had to go into the jungle and kill the beast! If we killed the beast, we would receive the ultimate reward. Success! Our first half set the tone, but we came into half time behind on the scoreboard! I went to my bag of tricks, and I pulled out "Energy Boosters"! We consumed them quickly! I spelt out that we are now playing the premiership quarter. We needed to kill the beast in the first five minutes and gain the momentum. We did. We came in at three-quarter time in front. Once again, I asked them to be Hunters and kill the beast and they did. We won our second game for the season. Well done boys. Go Burra. Remember this, "TASTE THE HONEY".

Round 8 - 24/6/2007 St Mary's 3.6.24 - v - Nth Brunswick 9.7.61
The theme of the day was leadership. Who was prepared to lead by example. We needed leaders on every line. Today there were plenty of leaders; therefore, great selfless acts, chasing, bumping, competing, diving on the ball. I also told the boys that they had to have the "eye of the tiger". To be a great leader, you must have the desire, motivation and killer instincts, hence, the "eye of the tiger". North Brunswick are a good team; that's why they won the game. But all of my boys can be very proud of their efforts today; they showed good leadership at crucial times. Next week, we will show leadership for the full 4 quarters and turn it around! Well done. Go Burra. Unleash the beast!

The theme for today was accountability! Play in front; man up; teamwork; attack the ball. Our overall endeavour was fantastic! Richmond were a far better team. Our boys can hold their heads high; they did St Marys proud. We were just outplayed by a better team on the day. Go the mighty Burra.

Round 10 - 15/7/2007 St Mary's - v - Beverley Hills
Unfortunately for Beverley Hills, they forfeited the game - they were short 6 players. We decided that we would still play a game anyway. So we gave them 6 players - well done to those boys who put their hands up to play for Beverley Hills. We then proceeded to play a game, and it was great fun. Unofficially, we won the game and a lot of positives came out of it. We ran, created opportunities, assisted, teamworked, talked, used our vision - and every player had the chance to play 4 quarters. I'll save my aeroplane story for next week! Well Done! Unleash the beast! Melt some faces! Go the Mighty Burras!

Round 11 - 22/7/2007 St Mary's 6.11.47 - v - Kew Rovers 2.4.16
"I feel the need; the need to speed". This was our theme today, and I must say, the boys were fast at it. We attacked the ball with great venom and speed, and this gave us the ultimate reward! The boys can hold their heads up high today; they did St Marys proud! There were a lot of great passages of play. "The harder you work, the luckier you become". Two more games to go; let's all get to training, work hard and finish the season off on a good note. Well done! Go the mighty Burra! Unleash the Beast! TASTE THE HONEY!

Round 12 - 29/7/2007 St Mary's 5.7.37 - v - Fitzroy 2.7.19
The theme today was about "believing in yourself". It was a hard, tough game of football today and it was a battle to the end! Once again, our third quarter won us the game - we defended brilliantly and we scored a goal into the wind. I asked the boys to drive the ball forward by boot at all cost and put the pressure on their defense. This worked wonderfully well. We kicked 3 last quarter goals to seal the match. This game is not all about winning. It's about believing in yourself and there was no better example set by David "The Terror" LaTerra. Go the mighty Burra. "TASTE THE HONEY".

Round 13 - 5/8/2007 St Mary's 6.4.40 - v - Banyule 3.8.26
Our theme of the day, "Teamwork". We came out today and played top class football. We were accountable; we showed leadership; we did all the one percenters; we believed in each other and, most importantly, ourselves; we were hunters; we played smart and we played tough! And most importantly, all these efforts culminated in teamwork. Teamwork is the essence of success! That's why we won the game today. The boys were prepared to do all these things. Congratulations to all the boys and girl for a fantastic year. We have come a long way this year; our development has improved out of sight. You should be very proud of your efforts. Thank you for the opportunity. Thank you for a great season. Remember this: "Unleash the Beast"! TASTE THE HONEY! GO THE MIGHTY BURRA!
