Preliminary Final - 24/08/2008 St Mary's Under 11 - Green 2 .5 .17 vs. SFX Colts 5 .1 .31
Fourth in Blue in 2007. Third in Green in 2008. The improvement in this team has been terrific whilst we may measure success by premierships alone, that would be unfair with our boys. This group has alot to look forward to and together with 22 fantastic families, truly make the club a better place. Thanks to all involved and I look forward to seeing all these boys in years to come. Great season 11 Green.

A great victory against a very talented, spirited and extremely tough Ivanhoe side who have proven themselves to be the equal of any team in the comp. You don't win games against sides like this without every player contributing and that's what 11 Green produced. Hard work gains rewards and nothing is more rewarding than finals success. Well done boys. Finals Leaders - Captain- Nick Jacobson, Vice Captains - Thomas Spinks and Marcus Daminato

Tough conditions and tough opposition made the game very hard work. As individual players all 22 of our boys played well, they don't know how not to try, but as a team we still need to help each other out more. A pretty good effort against a pretty good opposition ending in a fitting result. Tough conditions meant that the team who worked hardest got the rewards and that changed throughout the game. We really have to be more consistent if we want to have success this season. Overall a fairly good performance. See you Thursday.

Round 9 - 15/06/2008 St Mary's Under 11 - Green 6 .5 .41 vs. Macleod 7 .5 .47
Beaten by a better team. We need to play 4 quarters of hard football to win any game, let alone a fight for top spot. Macleod didn't stop running and although the 3rd quarter fight back was great, you can't give teams like them a start. Let's start again on Thursday and try to get back to being the hungry team that started the season.

Round 8 - 01/06/2008 St Mary's Under 11 - Green 5 .9 .39 vs. Camberwell 1 .3 .9
Our greatest strength is limiting the opposition's scoring chances with the 6 named on the backline doing their job every week - no matter who plays there. Undefeated half way through the season is a great effort but if we start to think any further than the next game we will get into trouble. Enjoy the week off. See you Thursday week to get ready for Whitehorse Colts. Great work boys.

Round 6 - 18/05/2008 St Mary's Under 11 - Green 7 .5 .47 vs. St Damians 1 .4 .10
Six straight wins has been a great effort. Training on Thursday was the best all season and together with playing hard and in front gave us the start we needed. We should all be very happy with the season so far but, be aware that sides will lift when they play us. Great effort 11 Green.

Round 5 - 11/05/2008 St Mary's Under 11 - Green 5 .9 .39 vs. Bulleen Templestowe 4 .7 .31
Another close win. We keep hanging on after making life tough for ourselves. Training has to start to be a little more "match like" to make us a better prepared team. 5 wins from 5 games is a great start but we know St Damians will be a very hard opponent next week, so lets get what we can out of Thursday nights for the rest of the season. Good win boys!

Round 4 - 04/05/2008 St Mary's Under 11 - Green 5 .5 .35 vs. Parkside 3 .9 .27
A very lucky win against a very strong opposition. We will settle in positions each week with less interchanges which will hopefully lead to less confusion and a team plan which is easier to follow. While four wins is a great start it's only going to get harder so we have to improve both our skills, our discipline and most importantly, our intelligence when using the ball. Overall though, another brave win.

Round 2 - 20/04/2008 St Mary's Under 11 - Green 6 .6 .42 vs. Balwyn 6 .5 .41
A great "come from behind" win. 5 point down with 40 seconds to go, kicking against the wind. It doesn't get any tougher than that! The courage of this team is growing every week. Jimmy Plunkett may have kicked the goal, but all 22 players were part of a team whose attitude let the opposition know that the game is never over. Fantastic effort 11 Green.
Goal Kickers:
Vecchio (2), Jacobsen (1), Plunkett (1), Freeman (1) and Dambrauskas (1)
