We stopped St Damians scoring opportunities and got on the board ourselves in the second half our handball receives got better as the game went on. I'm really pleased with this part of our game. Round 8 - 01/06/2008 St Mary's Under 13 - Blue 9 .5 .59 vs. Fitzroy 3 4 .1 .25
Today we became Kings of the Jungle, we ran, we chased, tackled, shepherded and smothered, it was a fantastic effort. We played tough, hard, head over the ball. It was fantastic to watch. The team that wins the most hard ball gets wins the game, this was the situation. Our handball receives was excellent as well as our tackling. Today I was very proud of my boys. We worked very hard at all the one percenters. Gut wrenching running, hard ball gets, shepherding, tackling, pressure, handballs and kicks to men in the best position. We played "accountable football". I strongly believe this was our best game we have played this season. The one outstanding quality the boys showed today was hard at the ball (head over the ball), you cant aske for more than that! We are improving more and more each week and it wont be long before we "Taste the Honey" again. Go the Mighty Burra.

Round 6 - 18/05/2008 St Mary's Under 13 - Blue 2 .5 .17 vs. Beverley Hills 7 .8 .50
We came out to play today and it was great to see. We ran, chased and our endeavour was excellent. We linked up our football today therefore resulting into some great passages of play. Each week we are giving a better account of ourselves and that's very encouraging. We need to keep practising our skills and also our running ability. Unfortunately as the game went on, Beverley Hills got on top and held on to win. Boys we must keep working hard and keep persisting because it wont be long again unti we "taste the honey". It was a hard day at the office. We tried our best to unleash the beast. We put more emphasis on gut wrenching running, hard ball gets, manning up, concentration and numbers around the ball. There was some great passages of play, bumping, shepherding and talking. We are becoming a stronger football unit. We now have to produce more passion and desire into our game. Keep your heads up and get working hard. "The harder you work the luckier you become". Go the Mighty Burra. "Happy Mothers Day to all Mums".

Round 4 - 04/05/2008 St Mary's Under 13 - Blue 3 .2 .20 vs. North Brunswick 14 .12 .96
Unfortunately we came out of the blocks very slowly. North Brunswick kicked 6 goals to nothing in the first quarter and got the jump on us. As we all know it is very hard to play catch up football. I demanded a better effort from the boys and put them to a challenge. They had to become more accountable for their actions. Every one had to improve by 10% therefore giving a better effort across the board. From the second quarter onwards we had a really good "dip", we slowed down the opposition scoring and we started to improve our game. Lets all get to training, work hard and turn this loss around into a positive for next week. "Go the Mighty Burra".

Round 3 - 27/04/2008 St Mary's Under 13 - Blue 10 .10 .70 vs. Fitzroy 3 2 .2 .14
After some heavy defeats, the boys finally "tasted the honey", it was an emphatic victory. We ran, created and assisted our team mates. Our ability to put the opposition under pressure without forward entries was the main reason why we won today. Great teamwork resulted in to many goals. Our backline was excellent our midfield was dangerous, our forwards were hungry. Today our boys should be very happy with their efforts. It was a great victory. Now we must keep working hard and keep developing our skills and running abilities, and our confidence will build. Go the mighty Burra. Taste the Honey!

Round 2 - 20/04/2008 St Mary's Under 13 - Blue 1 .3 .9 vs. Greythorn 12 .17 .89
It was a tough day at the office. Greythorn are a very good football side and they used the ball well. Today we gave 100%, our tackling, gut running, encouragement and endeavour was fantastic! We still need to run, create and assist at a higher level than what we are doing at the moment, but the key point indicators are very encouraging. The more we play the top sides the quicker we will learn! Let's all get to training and work hard as a team and hit Fitzroy Reds with everything we've got! Well done! Round 1 - 13/04/2008 St Mary's Under 13 - Blue 3 .7 .25 vs. Beverley Hills 12 .6 .78
We came up against a good football side, which ran the ball well. We were up against it for 3 quarters, but to the boys credit they fought back hard in the last quarter to out score the opposition for that particular quarter. All the boys tackled hard and their endeavours and determination was pretty good. The game didn't go our way but highlighted some deficiencies which we can work on at training. Therefore, improve our game to come out stronger next week. See you all at training. Go the Mighty Burra!

Round 9 - 15/06/2008 St Mary's Under 13 - Blue 0 .2 .2 vs. St Damians 7 .11 .53
St Marys we stand proud! I thought we gave a really good account of ourselves today. We ran, created and assisted each other. As the game went on we got better and better. We stopped St Damians scoring opportunities and got on the board ourselves in the second half our handball receives got better as the game went on. I'm really pleased with this part of our game. Today we had alot of solid contributors which was also pleasing. Gentlemen keep your heads up, keep working hard on your skills and running games and most importantly "Maintain the Rage". Catch you Wednesday night. Go the Mighty Burra.

We played the best link up football today for the whole year! Our attacks started from Centre half back. It was champagne football. Boys I'm extremely proud of your efforts. "We are the kings", "Taste the Honey", "Go the Mighty Burra".

Round 5 - 11/05/2008 St Mary's Under 13 - Blue 1 .9 .15 vs. Park Orchards B 13 .8 .86

Well done! Keep your heads up, Go the Mighty Burra!!! Next week its time to taste the honey!!!
