Grand Final - 30/08/2009 St Mary's Under 11 - Gold 2.7.19 vs. Kew 5.6.36

Unfortunately we were beaten by a better side. After having a lot of the play in the first quarter we failed to hurt them on the scoreboard. From wooden spooners last year to runners up- Great Season boys!!!!!!!

Preliminary Final - 23/08/2009 St Mary's Under 11 - Gold 7.5.47 vs. Canterbury 4.2.26

A fantastic four quarter effort. Not only our chasing and tackling, but the most pleasing aspect was our defensive pressure in the forward line. Well done boys - the big prize awaits.

Semi Final - 16/08/2009 St Mary's Under 11 - Gold 3.5.23 vs. Beverley Hills 3.3.21

What a heart stopper!! To come out in front in such a tight game is a cr to the boys' determination. To tough it out in such trying conditions sets us up for a good finals campaign.

Round 15 - 09/08/2009 St Mary's Under 11 - Gold 8.9.57 vs. Balwyn B 4.6.30

Great finish to the season. After a slow start we ran out easy winners. Great season boys!

Have finally stitched up a spot in the finals with a hard fought win over a team that we have always struggled against. The hard work starts now!

We would like to see every Coach, Team Manager, Player & parents from all our teams who are playing their last game this Sunday at the clubrooms from 5.00pm on Sunday, so we can continue the St Marys tradition of getting each of these teams up on stage to recognise their efforts throughout the season.

Playing against a team that has lost 1 game in 2 years. A fantastic team effort whilst kicking into the wind in the last quarter. Guts personified!!

In windy conditions it was a real struggle. It took until the last quarter to shake off a very determined opposition.

Round 11 - 12/07/2009 St Mary's Under 11 - Gold 15.7.97 vs. Surrey Park 5.5.35

A fantastic team effort - ran the game out. The most pleasing aspect was our willingness to work for each other. Our pressure, chasing, shepherding and tackling was tremendous.

After winning the first 3 quarters, we were over run in the last but managed to hang on for a draw. Hopefully the 2 points we take from this game will be enough.

Played the game with 17 players, moved the ball extremely well with long direct football. Opened up a big lead which was needed as we ran out of legs. Great effort boys.

25 points at quarter time, to give the top side such a big start, was always going to be a huge ask. To your cr you showed great character to match them for the next 3 quarters. Be very proud of your efforts.

Round 6 - 24/05/2009 St Mary's Under 11 - Gold 9.2.56 vs. Ivanhoe 5.8.38

Came up against a very spirited Ivanhoe. We were undermanned. We contested strongly and were fierce at the ball. With no interchange, we ran out of legs, but to the boys cr they held on.

Beaten by virtually the last kick of the day. When leading by 14 points with only a couple of minutes left. We have to learn to run out games. Apart from that - a great effort boys!

Started extremely well and held a quarter time lead. One bad quarter of footy cost us dearly. We now know we can match it with the best. Well done boys!

Fantastic effort by all 20 of our players. The usual suspects starred. Despite some inacurate kicking early, we worked together and eventually ran out easy winners. Special mention to our captain Emmet on his first game back after breaking his arm last season.
