Round 16 - 24/08/2009
St Mary's Under 15 - Div 1 5 .13 .43 vs. Kew Rovers 17 .11 .113
After a great start using the wind well, we went into quarter time with a good lead. Kew fought back hard to take a half time lead. The wind played havoc with our skills and we failed to score goals with it. Kew took advantage of 2 yellow cards against our players and scored well with the wind. We fought it out in the last quarter but Kew were too good in the end.

Preliminary Final - 16/08/2009
St Mary's Under 15 - Div 1 5 .9 .39 vs. Ivanhoe 12 .12 .84
Still without a fully fit team the boys took on a rampaging Ivanhoe in the second Semi Final. With Konrad Bruhn returning from injury there was reason to be confident of a good showing. The boys did not disappoint as we jumped out of the blocks. Having the first 2 shots of the match was good for our confidence. An inaccurate second quarter cost us a half time lead. Ivanhoe took over as we tired. The boys never gave up but weight of numbers told and Ivanhoe ran out winners.

Round 15 - 09/08/2009
St Mary's Under 15 - Div 1 6 .10 .46 vs. Glen Iris 12 .9 .81
A brave effort saw us go down by 23 points at Bulleen Park. Considering we had only 15 players up against their 21, I think we did very well. The amazing last quarter effort where our boys outscored the opposition 4 goals to 1 demonstrates what a courageous team this is.

Round 14 - 02/08/2009
St Mary's Under 15 - Div 1 13 .13 .91 vs. Kew Rovers 4 .0 .24
Needing to sew up 2nd spot, we were once again challenged for numbers. Starting with 17 players the team were confident that would be enough to get the job done. After an orindary 1st quarter where the wind played havoc, we hit our straps and had a great 2nd quarter. We continued this pattern for the game and ran out comfortable winners. This team is to be commended for their ability to win against adversity. It will stand them in good stead for finals football.

Round 13 - 26/07/2009
St Mary's Under 15 - Div 1 18 .12 .120 vs. Beverley Hills 3 .3 .21
We badly needed a win to ensure second place on the ladder. With injured stars still out it was up to boys to lift their own games to a higher standard. The boys did lift and many have realised that they can produce a better standard of football when the chips are down. A comfortable win against desperate opposition who pressured us until the final siren.

Round 12 - 19/07/2009
St Mary's Under 15 - Div 1 5 .12 .42 vs. Warrandyte 8 .9 .57
We went into this game severely affected by injury. Down to 17 players we were always going to be up against it playing a team that was in good form. For 3 quarters we contested hard and managed to hold a 9 point lead at the last break. Exhaustion took over and we lost by 9 points. The courage and determination of our team cannot be underestimated - almost a win against the odds. Well done boys.

Round 9 - 21/06/2009
St Mary's Under 15 - Div 1 9 .16 .70 vs. Kew Rovers 9 .13 .67
The team had been hit by illness and injury but we had to play well if we were to defeat 3rd placed Kew Rovers. In poor conditions, the game became a scrap. We looked the better team during the first hald, but Kew fought back and took the lead in the 3rd quarter. We hit back hard and in a tight last quarter, ran out winners by 3 points.

The Burra took and early lead in fine conditions. The boys from Beverley Hills were really working hard so our boys did not have it all their way. In what became a tough encounter, we eventually ran out winners despite finishing with 16 players. Great team effort led by Keenan Posat in the forward line.

St Mary's Under 15 - Div 1 18 .20 .128 vs. Warrandyte 6 .4 .40
The Burra came back well after the Ivanhoe game. Despite losing Daniel Dober early, the boys teamed well to take an early lead. We increased the lead after half time by working better on contact skills. Defensive walls were set up well and talk amongst the boys was the best all season.

Round 6 - 24/05/2009
St Mary's Under 15 - Div 1 8 .6 .54 vs. Ivanhoe 12 .11 .83
We went into the game with some injuries amongst the boys. Though not at our fittest, we stayed in the game all day. Some big guns were down but the other players put in to keep us in the competition. The Burras played out the final quarter and kept the end margin to under 30 points. We have work to do to improve on todays performance.

Round 5 - 17/05/2009
St Mary's Under 15 - Div 1 10 .16 .76 vs. Glen Iris 6 .5 .41
A tough encounter where our boys were tested by the Gladiators. We opened slowly and were not switched on. A scrappy first quarter resulted. It wasn't until the second half that we switched up a geat and began to take control. Poor kicking kept Glen Iris in the game. Eventually our skills won out and we won a tough encounter by 6 goals.

Round 4 - 10/05/2009
St Mary's Under 15 - Div 1 21 .14 .140 vs. Beverley Hills 1 .2 .8
After a big victory against Ivanhoe the boys had to back it up against a weaker opposition. A solid start led to an 8 goal lead by quarter time. We ran hard all game and never let our game falter - hard to do against a less skilled team sometimes. We won by a large margin at the finish - this was due to the unselfishness of all players and their willingness to play as a team. Congratulations to Konrad on his 100th game.

Round 3 - 03/05/2009
St Mary's Under 15 - Div 1 10 .13 .73 vs. Ivanhoe 9 .4 .58
Ivanhoe came to A K Lines reserve with a supposed star line up of new recruits. The
St Mary's boys jumped them early. Hard tackling and winning contested ball ensured we went in to quarter time with a lead. Reputations meant nothing to the Burra as they continued the pattern into the second term. Adrian Cataldo, playing his 100th game was getting plenty of touches. The Korda brothers were outstanding at the contest. Poor kicking on our part let Ivanhoe into the game. The boys were asked for a massive last half and came to the party. Disciplined play saw us take out the game.

The boys teamed well in wet and windy conditions. Showing great discipline we scored consistently against the wind. We welcomed Daniel Girolami into the team and he quickly had an impact. Great team effort with 14 goal kickers, the boys shared the ball well. It was pleasing to see unselfish play throughout the game. This team is quickly developing into a tight unit.

Round 1 - 19/04/2009
St Mary's Under 15 - Div 1 8 .13 .61 vs. Warrandyte 4 .7 .31
Began the game well with goals coming quickly. We established a lead early and looked for better than the opposition. We failed to capitalise on our good play from the first quarter and allowed them back into the game. New players Sean Towers and Simon Forby (new to the team) made excellent debuts and are most welcome additions to the team. Warrandyte came back hard in the second half but to our credit we held them out to win by 5 goals.
