It was great to have the last game of the season played at 'home' in perfect conditions. We were up against Balwyn who were also desperate to finish off the season with a win. The game was played with great courage and endeavour from both teams, unfortunately there tall players were the difference on the day. St Marys were up against 2nd played Fitzroy, who had only lost 2 games for the season. We were out to give it our best shot and improve from the previous time we met. The game was played with plenty of courage and endeavour for the ball. Our tackling and commitment for the 50/50 contest has improved out of sight. We are finally starting to play well as a team now and earning some respect back from the opposition teams. Be proud of yourselves, hold your heads high. Go Burras.

End of season celebrations this Sunday at Greensborough Football Club commencing 5.30pm. We have organised one of our own
St Mary's players and Carlton champion Matthew Kreuzer to come along to say g'day to everyone. Food will be provided and everyone is welcome in what will be a fun night for all to enjoy. All club jumpers for any players/teams not playing finals must be returned directly to your Team Managerthis Sunday straight after your game. The club has arranged to have them cleaned & checked on Monday. End of Season Trip - 3rd-5th September. Presentation Day - 12th of September.

The game was played in perfect conditions against Beverley Hills. Having played against them twice already this season and losing both games. Today we were out to learn from the last 2 losses and focus on improvement from the whole team. It started on Tuesday night at training with tackling being the main focus. Today was by far our best game for a long time, our commitment for the ball, courage and desperation for 4 quarters resulted in 4 goals for the game. There were some great individual efforts but more importantly a 'GREAT TEAM EFFORT. 'Go Burras".

Played in windy conditions on our home ground, up against Hawthorn Citizens. Still chasing our first win for the season and wanting it at all costs. Unfortunately it was not meant to be with Hawthorn Citizens up by 30 points by half time. It was pleasing to see however the boys in true
St Marys spirit, fight the game out until the final siren. There was some great passages if play in the 2nd half which was inspiring to watch. Keep up the good work boys - Go Burra!!

Sunday's game was played in excellent conditions on a big ground against St Damians. In our first half of football we appeared a bit to timid to get in and get the ball. In the second half we grew with confidence and played great football, hitting tagets, winning the one on one contests and taking on our opponents. We certainly need to take a positive attitude into next weeks game against Hawthorn Citizens and play with plenty of endeavour from the first bounce. 'GO BURRA".

The game was played in typical wet, muddy conditions against a very good team (Preston Bullants). Our 1st and 4th quarters were disappointing. The 2nd and 3rd were more pleasing. Our commitment for the ball in recent games has been really disappointing. As a group we need to try and finish off the season, you owe it to yourselves after all the hard training to date. Believe in yourselves. Go Burras!

We knew we were up against a really good unit today, playing top of the ladder Park Orchards. It was a typical wet weather game and got down to who was prepared to put their body on the line. We were totally outplayed by a good team who were always first to the ball, more committed and more disciplined. A great lesson to learn. Let's put in a much better team effort next week, you owe it to yourselves. Go Burras.

We went into the game with plenty of confidence and spirit. With plenty of footy played in our forward line in the first quarter, unfortunately we were unable to put the score on the board. At half time the score had blown out and it was up to us not to let the game slip, it was up to us to fight back. Our 2nd half was really encouraging with some great football being played. The tackling and endeavour for the ball was was fierce and inspiring and all you boys showed great

It was a great even contest played between both teams, with each side desperate to put 4 points on the board. We worked extremely hard for 4 quarters but unfortunately a few missed opportunities cost us the points. It was great to see "All Players", step up a notch and contest the ball hard for the whole match, "Go Burra".

What a wonderful day for football, for a very special occasion. For the whole game we focussed on 4 words - 'Courage, Endurance, Mateship and Humour', which we showed strongly from the first bouce, with our fierce tackling and commitment to the ball. With 2 goals in the first quarter we were switched on, we tried hard all day with both teams desperate for a win. Unfortunately Doncaster were too good on the day. Go Burra!
