It’s hard to believe last round of the home and away season is already upon us. Many sides have already qualified for finals and there are still a few in the hunt for a finals berth. Best of luck to those sides for the coming weeks. Unfortunately, we do have approximately half our sides playing their final game for the year. These sides have played their hearts out for the club and I’m sure have made lots of new team mates and friends. I hope you have all enjoyed your year and come back to represent this proud club next year and years to come.

Last Friday night we had our Annual Gala Ball which was a great success. Over 250 people attended not only to support the club, but to give a great send off to our Top Age Colts and our Youth Girls. Congratulations to all for your service to this club over the many years – and remember you always have a place at St Mary’s and are always welcome back anytime you wish.

The Gerry O’Hara medal for best Colts club person was Jesse King. The Bernie Girolami medal for the best Youth Girl club person was Annaleise Xanthos. Congratulations to both recipients.

Jack and Colleen Batchelor and Paul and Karen King where inducted as life members on this night. Thank you to both these couple for their dedicated and tireless work to support the St Mary’s GJFC over a long period of time. Without this type of support our club would not be what it is today.

This Sunday night, being the last night of the home and away round, we have arranged for a general supporter’s night to either celebrate making finals or commiserating with those that finish this week. We have arranged for roast beef rolls for food, as well as having our resident DJ Tony playing some hits!!! Should be a great night. It would be great to get as many people back to the club as possible.

Go Burra!!!
