 		 We started our finals series with a cracking first half. Our intensity, tackling, hunting in numbers and our ability to back each other was the best it's been all season. We then saw an opposition team throw every thing at us in the second half but fortunately, we were able to hold on to win the game. We now find ourselves in the preliminary final against Ashburton.  Unfortunately we were beaten by a better team on the day. Our first quarter was good followed by by a very ordinary second quarter which has cost us the game . Our second half was excellent and the last quarter saw us play some of the best football we've played this year. Unfortunately 1 goal 8 has hurt us in the end and we now find our self playing in an elimination final. We now have to regroup and play the type of footy we know we can play if we're to go any further.

 Today was a great game and a great result after being belted last week . Our commitment to each other was excellent right from the start. We were challenged several times through out the day and what's was pleasing was our ability to find something extra in the last quarter when the game was up for grabs. We now have to bring that same approach and a win next week is a must if we are to secure the double chance.

 Unfortunately another narrow loss .very hard to find positives from today's game .our inability to win the contested ball was evident .Our attitude at training and our soft poor excuses in the past few weeks for not being able to train are playing a major part in not being able to win the closely contested games.We must toughen up and we will toughen up as a group.

 Today was a hard fought tightly contested game by both teams. Unfortunately we fell just short going down by 5 points.Never the less our intensity and the physical side of our game was excellent .At the end of the day the difference was our inability to convert going inside 50 after having most of the play in our forward line In The last Quarter.The boys showed great commitment to one another and although we lost the game it was probably the first time this year that we were able to put 4 quarters together.well done boys very proud of your efforts today.

 After a week off we entered the game knowing Banyule would give us a solid work out and they certainly did that We started off very well taking control of the game early only to let our lead slip in the second Quarter. Our third quarter saw us lift our intensity significantly,our pressure around the ground was excellent.Our last Quarter was excellent getting numbers at the contest ,and our ability to run,carry the ball and hit targets was the difference and as a result finished the game off well which resulted in a great win.

Coaches' comments:
 Round 8 saw two teams fight it out for top spot,which proved to be a hard fought and physical game. Our boys had a cracking start to the to the game getting out of the blocks quickly and opening up a three goal lead at quarter time. The second quarter was an arm wrestle seeing two goals a piece and we went into the main break in control of the game . Our third quarter was excellent keeping the opposition scoreless and extending our lead by 32 point at three quarter time. The Last quarter saw Fitzroy full of running and really came at us but to the boys credit they were able to hold a fast finishing opposition to win by 8 points and consolidate top spot .with Queens birthday next week ,we can now freshen up with a week off and get ready for an exciting second half of the year. Great effort once again boys keep up the good work. Training Thursday night.

 Another great win against good opposition. Our tackling ,desperation and our zoning was excellent. We were 6 goals up half way through the third quarter and then the opposition got a run on . They got with in 8 points in the last and again when things got tough we were fantastic in the fact that we didn't panic and did what it took to steady and win the game.Well done boys great effort and we now face off against Fitzroy next week who are on top. Apologies for the goal scorers we lost all data at half time ,hard to get good help

 Good win against good opposition . We Went into half time with a good lead having played a solid second quarter,only to let it slip in the third . Three quarter time saw us 7 points up .With ten minutes to play that lead was cut to 2 points. The boys were under siege but rallied and showed some great character to hold on and have a great win,we'll done boys.

 First loss for the year against a more determined opposition . Unfortunately our commitment at the footy wasn't to the standard that it has been over the last four weeks. Our decision making was poor at times turning the ball over several times which resulted in the opposition scoring .On a positive note we didn't have the best of days and managed to be within 7 point at the final siren. We will learn from the loss,we work on our deficiencies and we will stay positive.

Right from the start the boys showed true commitment to one another, in a game that was our most physical so far this season. The first half proved to be an arm wrestle, that was tightly contested. We put the squeeze on them in the third quarter with our run and physical pressure which set up our great win. Well done boys.

 Another great effort by all the boys,we started the game where we left off last week . We let the opposition get back into the game in the second quarter by working forward but not working hard enough going back. After half time we worked a lot harder our running game became evident and we were able to take control. We followed up in the last quarter and as a result we had a comfortable win which sets up a pretty important game against Ivanhoe next week .well done boys.
