On Sunday the boys played their first ever final against Park Orchards. The boys got off to a flying start and kicked 3 goals to nothing with a strong wind behind them. In the second quarter they were able to restrict Park Orchards to 2 points by playing really defensive football against the wind. In the second half every player gave 100 % to be able to hold on for a 9 point win! What a fantastic effort by every player to win their first final ever! The boys sang the song loud and proud at the end of the game and they were well supported by friends and family. We now have the big task of playing Glen Iris next week for our chance of playing in the grand final! Win, lose or draw we are all very proud of your effort this season boys. Go Burra!!!

On Sunday we came up against a very determined Fitzroy side at Greensborough Park. Fitzroy had just come off 2 big wins and were finishing the season off strongly. After a sluggish start the boys set up the win in the second quarter with a dominant performance. Again we were able apply enough pressure to hold off a strong side that had all the momentum in the last quarter. This is the 10th win of the season for the boys which caps off an incredible year for them. All the focus is now on the first final that the boys have ever played in. No matter what the result we are all extremely proud of what they have been able to achieve and we know that they will have a red hot go against Park Orchards on Sunday. Well done to all of the boys on a terrific home and away season! Bring on the finals!

The boys returned to form yesterday to with a win over 4th placed Park Orchards. This is their 9th win of the season and they have now cemented their spot in third place. Well done boys that is an amazing effort. It was another hard fought game in which the boys did not give an inch. The tackling pressure was outstanding and everyone stuck to their structures all day. It was an excellent team effort but I do have to give special mention to Marcus Spilios for the goal of the year from the boundary line and on the run! Well done on another terrific effort boys.

Well it was another tough day for the boys against second on the ladder Glen Iris on their home ground. It was another good lesson for the boys in relation to manning up and keeping their structures against quality sides. The boys still put in a great effort but did not play the big ground as well as Glen Iris did. This weeks training session was back too basics as we dropped a lot of marks and missed a lot of targets on Sunday. The thing that has really stood out for all of us over the last couple of weeks is that no matter whether the boys are winning or losing they continue to encourage each other both on and off the field. They are also demonstrating excellent sportsmanship even when they have been disappointed after a loss. Well done boys you continue to make us all proud.

The boys had one of their toughest matches of the season on Sunday. As always they battled it out to the very end and went down by just 1 point. It was a low scoring and physical match that was close all day. We had our chances in the last quarter but just couldn't convert. The boys supported each other really well and although they were disappointed not to get the win they can all hold their heads high for the effort they put in. A special mention to Jack B, Mitch, Jackson and Chase for volunteering to play for the opposition. They all played really well for both sides! Well done also to Amri who kicked his first goal in Aussie Rules!!! Great effort again boys.

Today we took on the top of the ladder Whitehorse on a very wet and heavy Whatmough Park. We had all the play for the majority of the first quarter but just could not convert with Whitehorse capitalising on their opportunities in the last 5 minutes. To the boys credit they fought back and were very competitive for the majority of the game. They did not panic and were certainly not intimidated by the quality opposition that they were playing against. As always the boys did not stop trying until the final siren. This was also evident by how exhausted they were and how much mud they were covered in! Well done again boys you should all be very proud of your efforts.

The boys braved the cold wet conditions to come away with their 6th win in a row! Hawthorn came out firing from the first bounce and had some dominant players in the middle. A special mention to Jace Zahra and Spencer Mills as they were given the task of playing on the 2 most dominant players and both did a fantastic job to keep them quiet rest of the game whilst dominating themselves. It was a terrific team effort again and the boys really lifted each other in very trying conditions. Everyone is so proud of the boys for the 100% effort that they put in every week and also the way they continue to encourage each other. Well done again boys!

Well done to the boys on another fantastic win! We came up against a very determined Balwyn this week and the boys were a couple of goals down all day. To their credit they did not give up all day even when things were not going their way. They went into the last quarter 11 points down and were able to kick 3 goals to get up by 9 points. The boys did not stop encouraging each other throughout the match and in particular in the last quarter. In the end it was this self belief that got them across the line. Well done also to Harrison on his 50th game!! A special mention also goes to Thomas Brooks, Jacob Leahy, Liam McAllister and Jack Costanzo for playing for the opposition for a quarter each. Not only did they not complain they played really well for the opposition which is a real show of sportsmanship. Thanks boys you did us proud.

Another great win by the boys again today. 4 wins in a row great effort boys! We played against a hard tackling Fitzroy on their home ground in windy conditions. The boys started to use the corridor well on a big ground and ran in numbers all day. Everyone played to the team structures that we have worked on all year and it paid off with our biggest win of the season. Our rock solid full back Thomas Hewett went forward and kicked a great goal and Jack Boskovski burst through the pack to kick a brilliant goal on the run and also gave out a lightning hand pass to set up another! However it was our rock solid backline that stood up to every challenge again that allowed us to keep the opposition to a low score again. A great team effort boys!

Today we were up against Park Orchards at their home ground in very wet conditions. What a game it was with the boys getting out to an early lead and then hanging on in a nail biter! The boys came in at three quarter time with Park Orchards having all the momentum in the previous 2 quarters. They were asked to be first to the ball and dig deep in the last quarter and every boy on the ground responded to fight out our best win of the season. The boys are really starting to play for each other and the results are testament to that. Well done boys we are all so proud of your efforts!

What a fantastic win by the boys today over the top of the ladder Glenn Iris. This was made even better as it was also 50 games today for Marcus Spilios who played a true captains game! We were away to a fantastic start with 3 goals in the first quarter to Alex Gerasimidis. The midfield worked hard all day and our backline stuck to their men tight which was very impressive against such quality opposition. The main reason we were able to get over Glen Iris today was our consistent pressure and ferocious tackling! It was very hard to pick the best players today as all of the boys played their part in this win. Well done on a great effort boys.
