Winter Footy is Back

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Yes the weekend was cold and particularly wet however we did manage to get through most of our games. Unfortunately due to the extremely wet conditions we have had to reschedule games away from Greensborough park this week to give it a chance to recover a little.

Round 7 Completed

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It is hard to believe that we have now completed 7 rounds and winter football commences this week.

It was really humbling to see a packed house on Sunday night to celebrate Indigenous Round. We were privileged to have Hall of Fame and Premiership player Syd Jackson and former Sydney Swans coach Colin Kinnear talk about how football shaped their lives. We learnt how Syd […]

Indigenous Round

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]I realise this has been a week of disruption with the photos being held on Tuesday and Wednesday evening. Unfortunately due to the league only putting a fixture out a week at a time it was impossible to arrange the photographers for a Sunday and schedule in our sides to then be able to make games. I personally want to thank all the parents […]

Round 4

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Round 4 has reached us already and signifies the last of the grading games. At this time, I would like to acknowledge the hard work of our football Department. Whilst we strive to get every team in an appropriate competitive grade we will never get this 100% right. However, in saying this the majority of our sides are competitive and we will only need […]

Round 3

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]As we enter Round 3, I would like to acknowledge the great work and commitment of our volunteers who create a fun and supportive environment for our champion football players. It takes between 10-12 volunteers for each game of football and we remain fortunate to have so many families assist each week whether it be coaching, goal umpire or time keeper.

We celebrated the Round […]

Welcome to the 2018 Season

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]After all the hard work in the preseason, Round 1 is now upon us.

St Mary’s GJFC this year will be fielding 22 teams comprising of well over 450 participants each week.

Putting this many participants on the park fully kitted out each week does not happen without a lot of dedicated people working hard in the background, so a big thank you to the Committee, […]
