Semi Final - 14/08/2011 St Mary's Under 14's - Black 6 .9 .45 vs. Kew 18 .7 .115
Bad luck today boys. The other team was just a bit too big and strong for us. To your credit, you didn't throw the towel in at any stage and fought the game out to the end. Thanks for the year and thanks to the parents that have helped out this year. Special thanks to Megan, Matt and Rob, enjoy the summer , see you all for pre-season training.

Round 15 - 07/08/2011 St Mary's Under 14's - Black 8 .6 .54 vs. Ashburton 11 .10 .76
What a great effort against the top team! It shows what you can do when you all play as a team. Every player did his bit when he had to and it was a credit to you all. The workrate for 4 quarters was simply the best you have provided for any game this year. If you play with that intensity every week, you can beat anyone.

Round 14 - 31/07/2011 St Mary's Under 14's - Black 5 .1 .31 vs. Heidelberg 9 .8 .62
A very disappointing loss to a team that wanted the ball more than we did. We were in the game up until 3/4 time, but once Heidelberg got their noses in front, we threw the towel in. We have to be much stronger over the ball if we are to win games of football.

Round 13 - 24/07/2011 St Mary's Under 14's - Black 6 .13 .49 vs. Camberwell 4 .8 .32
A good gutsy win in wet and muddy conditions. We had a good 1st quarter to set up the win and although our 3rd wasn't so great, everyone dug deep in the last to bring home the 4 points. This win puts us in the 4, a great effort boys. Let's keep working hard to make sure we stay there and play finals. Well done Luke on your 100th game.

Another terrific 4 quarter team effort against a avery good opposition. We played a good attacking game. The tone was set in the first 1/4 and then we kept up the workrate for the rest of the game. It shows what we can do when we work hard. Keep up the good effort boys.

Round 11 - 03/07/2011 St Mary's Under 14's - Black 6 .12 .48 vs. Park Orchards 9 .10 .64
We lost the game in the 3rd quarter when we went to sleep for 5 minutes and let the other team kick four goals in a row. Up until the 15 minute mark, they hadn't kicked a goal and then we let them off the hook. Hopefully, we learn the lesson that we have to play 4 quarters of football and have to play out every quarter.

Round 10 - 26/06/2011 St Mary's Under 14's - Black 3 .5 .23 vs. Ashburton 16 .15 .111
Beaten by a much better team. Ashburton showed us what it takes to be a top side. We were second to the ball and that showed in general play. A good second half to keep them down to only 5 goals was a result of more pressure and better running. Let's work harder at traning to make sure we improve.

Round 9 - 19/06/2011 St Mary's Under 14's - Black 16 .7 .103 vs. Heidelberg 5 .16 .46
Two wins in a row and it's not by accident. It's the result of working hard at training and in games. We are taking the game on with good run and carry and also good long kicking. Overhead marking has also improved out of signt! Keep working hard on the little things and the results will keep coming.

Round 8 - 05/06/2011 St Mary's Under 14's - Black 7 .10 .52 vs. Camberwell 6 .4 .40
At last !!! A great result and it goes to show what a bit of perserverance and application can do. We made front position and by doing that we made the play. Its also a good reward for sticking to training and working hard at our game plan. If we keep improving, this wont be the only win for the year - thats for sure!

Round 7 - 29/05/2011 St Mary's Under 14's - Black 3 .6 .24 vs. Kew 7 .6 .48
2 goals in the first 5 minutes, but only 1 for the rest of the game, pretty much sums up the match. We can't afford to play 5 minutes and then think we have done enough. The tackling was pretty good, but we need to have much better movement to space so the kicker actually has a target to kick to. Special thanks to the boys who filled in for the opposition today.

Fantastic effort today boys. If you take away the first quarter, we would have won the game. It goes to show what you can do when you take the game on and run the ball with confidence. If we keep perservering at training a win is just around the corner.

Round 5 - 15/05/2011 St Mary's Under 14's - Black 1 .1 .7 vs. Ashburton 12 .16 .88
Good last quarter but really disappointing first 3 quarters. The pressure shown in the last quarter is what was needed in the first 3. We need to have better movement and be alot more desperate to win your own football. Harder work at training is needed.

Round 4 - 08/05/2011 St Mary's Under 14's - Black 0 .1 .1 vs. Bulleen Templestowe 25 .25 .175
Disappointing effort against, a very good and strong team. When you are second to the ball all the time, you can't expect to win many games. Now that the grading games are over, lets hope for more competitive efforts for the rest of the season.

Round 2 - 10/04/2011 St Mary's Under 14's - Black 1 .2 .8 vs. Fitzroy 2 20 .15 .135
Once again we came up against a very good opponent in Fitzroy. We were very competitive in the 1st half, our attack on the ball was much better than in round one. Unfortunately, we let Fitzroy play the game as they wanted in the 2nd half. We need to learn how to keep pressure on for the whole game and run and carry better. Keep your chins up and keep working harder at training and it will turn around.

Round 1 - 03/04/2011 St Mary's Under 14's - Black 0 .0 .0 vs. Whitehorse Colts 28 .11 .179
Unfortunate to come up against an extremely good team who were far too big and strong. Disappointing though that we didn't show anything close to our best. We need to learn from today and work hard on all facets of our game.
