Unfortunately, my message about officials and parent behaviour has fallen on deaf ears. The club unfortunately has now been placed on a $1,500 bond until the end of the 2018 season. The YJFL are determined to make a statement and are imposing large penalties and fines.
As a reminder if you are doing an official duty, it is your responsibility to fill this duty as a representative of the club and the league and not to get involved in either on-field or off-field incidents.
If you need to approach an Umpire, it is the TEAM MANAGER and only the TEAM MANAGER who can do this. If you are a runner, deliver your message and get off. Do not engage in any other situations with umpires or players. If you are a coach, coach!!! If there are any match day incidents, these should be reported with the Team Manager on the day.
Please remember that this is JUNIOR sport, and while it is competitive, the focus should always be on participation, fun, fairness and respect.
A great effort was achieved by our Youth Girls side last week, especially by Matilda Blakey and Annaleise Xanthos, who raised approx. $2,370.50 for breast cancer awareness. A magnificent effort! I would also like to congratulate the Under 15 Boys, who had significant haircuts on Sunday night to support this cause. Well done all round.
GALA BALL – Yes, it is tonight. Thanks to everyone who is supporting this event. Sunday night the clubrooms will be open as normal, however we will not be having an age group night due to the ball.
Good luck to all sides this week!
