Can you believe our home and away season is almost a third of the way over already ?
With the wintery weather over the last week, please spare a thought for our fantastic Coaches & Assistants who continue to take training, rail, hail or shine and even through the arctic temperatures of late. Our coaches volunteer countless hours at training, games and in preparation, often having to juggle their work & family commitments all for the benefit of our sons & daughters. It is a job that often attracts more criticism than thanks, and on behalf of the club I would like to applaud all of their efforts.
Our big three social events for the year will again be our Ladies night (Saturday 20th June), our Dinner Dance / Gala Ball ( Friday 7th August) and the Sportsman’s Lunch (date tbc – July). Our social events are important to our club, not so much financially as we try and keep the charges to a minimum, but as a way of encouraging a sense of club spirit & inclusion. If you haven’t attended an event before I strongly encourage you to make 2015 the year to do so, it really is the more the merrier. This year we will be trialling the use of Try Booking to purchase tickets to our events to help streamline the organising process. If you do plan on attending it would be greatly appreciated if members are able to book & pay as early as possible as it greatly helps with organising & catering.
This Sunday Night is focused on our Colts Boys & Youth Girls teams:
Speeches: 6 PM – we will hear from our coaches on their year thus far
Kids Pizza – served free of charge for all players & siblings at 6:30.
Adult Meals – at the budget price of $10. Come down and feed the family for $20 – cheaper than Sunday night fish n chips !
Raffles – a magnificent seafood platter donated by Fishi Business at Greensborough Plaza and the opportunity to win $250 cash in our joker jackpot.
Lucky balls – a number will be drawn out of the box and one player in attendance who wears that guernsey number this year will walk away with a $25 Rebel Sport voucher.
A reminder that you don’t need to be colts or youth girls family to attend. Why not ask around at the game this Sunday and get a crew from your team down to the club?
Next Sunday Night, 21st May will be focused on our Under 14 & 15’s Age Group.
We have a few non age group open nights scheduled on our Sundays this year and we would love to get some guest speakers to the club. In the past couple of years we have had footballers, an AFL umpire & Olympians (summer & winter) speak on a Sunday night. If anybody has contacts of someone you believe may be of interest as a guest speaker please let me know.
Team Sponsors of the Week:
Citiwide Signs (U14 Black) – Sam & Danni Gioffre are fantastic supporters of our club who have literally done it all over many years at St Marys. This year, as well as being Club sponsors they have generously taken out a team sponsorship also. You will have no doubt seen many examples of their handiwork around the club and if you have a business looking for quality signage you couldn’t do any better than contacting Sam, Danni & their team for a quote and appraisal of your needs.
Scaffold Solutions (U13 Blue) offer quality scaffolding products & service of the highest standard at competitive prices. If you have a need for scaffolding ( & who doesn’t) please contact Joe Cerullo on 9460 1333. Joe is a fantastic supporter of our club and we thank them for their continued sponsorship.
Canteen Staff (Colts 4): Tony, Marie, Debbie & Russell are the smiling faces you see each week in the canteen, as well as assisting in setting up our grounds on a Sunday, and often in the club on a Sunday night . This year they are also the sponsors of our Colts 4 team – thanks for your support
